Bruce Haymes is chairman of the board of directors of Toluna Corporation, a private equity backed global digital insights company based in Europe. He is also an Executive-in-Residence at Progress Partners, a NYC and Boston based merchant bank. He was most recently the chief partnership officer in the Office of the President of Northeastern University. Previously, Bruce was the founder and managing director of Nielsen Ventures at The Nielsen Company (NYSE: NLSN). He was responsible for Nielsen Innovate, Nielsen’s startup investment and innovation platform based in Caesarea, Israel. He also led all investments globally for Nielsen. During his tenure, he made more than 30 investments in startups located on almost every continent.
Bruce joined Nielsen in 2008 to lead the launch of a new media measurement business. He held multiple roles including business development and M&A. Prior to Nielsen, he led business affairs at Time Warner Cable responsible for managing TWC’s relationship with technology partners. Before Time Warner Cable, Bruce held several executive positions for global satellite carrier, PanAmSat Corporation (a subsidiary of DirecTV, formerly NYSE: SPOT), including corporate and strategic development.
Bruce started his career practicing corporate finance law at leading law firms in New York including Chadbourne & Parke and Morrison & Foerster.
He serves on the board of directors or advisory boards of three venture capital funds: Nielsen Innovate (Israel), Sweetwood Capital (Europe and Israel), and CircleUp Ventures (Silicon Valley). He also serves as a board member for several Israel startups. He has served as an advisor to The Advertising Research Foundation (ARF), and is a mentor at Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator (ERA). He has also been a guest lecturer of corporate finance and M&A at Cornell Tech’s MBA program in New York. He remains a member of the New York and New Jersey Bar Associations, and is a graduate of Tufts University and the George Washington University School of Law.
